we sell our beloved "surf"Land Cruiser in Chile/Pichilemu.
The truck has Californian plates. I can sell it only to tourists. Sorry, Chilenos make no sense to pay the import tax to registered it here.
Unless you sell a vehicle to someone who will import it via a zona franca, in which case permanent residents of those regions may be interested. Sometimes they (Aduanas) don't allow such old vehicles to be imported via Zonas Francas.
I spend a lot of time and km in an FJ 60 in the Middle East. Yours is a bit old but some of the older Toyotas hold up OK. There are some fans of old Land Cruisers here who don't mind the terrible fuel economy* and difficulty in finding old-model parts in Chile so you might find one of them.
* around 8-10 miles per US gallon, in US units; about 3-4 km/litre
asking price of US$6k is a little too steep to my thinking.?

H-A, you do indeed know your Toyotas.
Let's just say that those years FJ 60s were rust prone.
I wonder if he ever fixed the steering on this vehicle? I remember that the power steering was puking fluid.
Reminds me of the guy who tried to sell a Toyota pickup of the same vintage on this forum a few years ago. We looked up his web page and found pictures of it under water, being towed, and similar.

How well have you thought about the used auto prices in Chile HybridAmbo? You might want to do some research on what the market value is here before you think. Have you ever bought or sold a vehicle here in Chile? I have seen TLC bring top dollar down here. I had an 1981 that I sold back in 2009 for $4000usd and that was with a blown head gasket.

In another thread he said the same, I want $6k and very curious as to how he is basing the value of his LCruiser which He does not even mention "How many miles on it,the very basic info you have to provide when selling a vehicle, Make,Series,Year,Miles, motors etc. etc..'
'actually I don't like to have a discussion with someone who isn't interested in to buy our truck.'
A tough seller.
